Aberdeen - Crowds
Amazingly the better Aberdeen football team does the more people turn up to watch !! Or so it used to be.
The graph below shows the average attendance on the left hand axis, and the eventual finishing position on the right hand side. There is not some clever formula that can be used to predict, but the attendance figures for the years when Aberdeen finished 4th are within 300 of each other.
The 2007 figures must have caused alarm bells to ring though. For the first time the finishing position improved but there was not a corresponding increase in the average crowd figure.
The figures for 2008 and 2009 were not reported in the accounts. The 2008 figure looks to have been just under 12,000, the estimated figure for 2009 is just under 13,000.
