Aberdeen - Directors

The graph below shows the total amount of money paid to the directors of the club.

This was reported as a single figure up to 2005 when they started to note the amount the highest paid director received. The total only exceeded £200,000 per year for the first time in 2007. By 2008 the highest paid director was taking £212,000 out of the club. This compares fantastically with Hibs where Rod Petrie takes out close to £400,000 per year. It compares appallingly with Falkirk and Dundee United where the directors take out roughly £70,000 per year, and St Mirren where they take nothing.

The highest paid director was paid £212,000 in 2008 up from £101,000 in 2006. Whether this more than doubling is justified is up to your own view of these things.

In 2009 the director pay dropped from the £344,000 in 2008 to a total of £301,000. The highest paid director saw his salary drop from £212,000 to £158,000. There is no explanation in the accounts to justify this.
