Aberdeen - Chairman's Statements

Reading through the club accounts since 2002 showed a wonderful consistency from the chairman.

In 2002 the chairman said "The period covered by this report will be remembered as one of the most turbulent and dramatic in the history of Scottish football in terms of off the field activity'

In 2003 he offered "The period covered in the report has been one of transition throughout the Club and in football in general"

By 2004 it had become "The period covered by this report was one of the most difficult faced by the club and Scottish football in general".

2005 showed a huge change in tack to "The period covered by this report witnessed an encouraging start to a new era in the history of the club ..."

2006 progressed to "The period covered in this report has been one in which the club has tried to build on the encouraging start made ....."

2007 was a far more upbeat comment, due to the European qualification and the highest finish since the club became a PLC in 1994. This was "just reward for the hard work that has gone on both on and off the park over the previous three seasons"
