Aberdeen - Where the money comes from
This graphs below show how the different areas have contributed to the club turnover. In 2008 the club changed the way they group different items of income together. An attempt has been made to go back and group things togetehr to show a history. This may not be accurate but best efforts have been made !!
The gate receipts seemed stuck in a rut between £2m and £3m up to 2008. The only ways to improve this would be a dramatic increase in crowds or an increase in ticket prices. A £1 increase on the price of a seat for game would bring in the same increase in money as roughly 1000 extra turning up. Clearly a mix of both would be even better !
The 2008 figure is a huge leap which comes from having 4 Uefa games that brought an extra 74,000 fans in. The other Cup runs also helped this.

The TV money is similarly flat up to 2008. The hopes here would be a higher league position, some improvement on the SPL TV deal, and regular success in Cup competitions meaning more game being televised. The 2002 figure came from being on more live SPL games and from the Celtic Cup quarter final being televised. The 2007 rise came from a new Setanta contract and improved finishing position.
The 2008 figure is fantastic but will not be repeated unless the club play regularly in Europe.

The sponsorship deals have look to be very driven by on-field successes ! The increase in 2007 comes from the improved league position, the 2008 figure from Europe.

The club classify money from several areas as being "Community/lotteries" money. In 2005 this included the money from Inverness Caley playing at Pittodrie.
