Aberdeen - Football Finances
The 2009 results show a marked drop from the previous season.
This undoubtedly comes from the loss of European games and the revenue that that run brought in.
Stewart Milne's report suggests that he is happy with the progress of the club, that it had been time to change manager, and that the new ground will be a big challenge.
Willie Miller's report emphasises that the club's youth development policy is the best way forward.
Duncan Fraser's report on the finances is also quite bullish, despite the figures being reported. All of the sources of income have dropped dramatically from the previous season, with the overall drop being 33%. The club wage bill which was highlighted as being bonus driven, only dropped 3% in the same period.
The loss of the Setanta money is of great concern. The club estimates that this will cause a drop in expected revenue of £2.8m over the next three years. For a club that doesn't generally make money this is a huge hit. The report includes a "told you so" type comment around the SPL deciding to choose to partner with Setanta rather than Sky, against Aberdeen's wishes
