Aberdeen - Transfer Fees
The graph below shows the amounts paid each year to bring in new players. These figures may not have been quoted in the press but they are the figures that the club report in their accounts.
The stated aim of the club is to try and groom as much young talent as possible and to bring in experienced free transfers where required.
It is clear that there is little money spent on transfers, but this doesn't mean overall player costs have reduced. As players have been allowed to leave clubs on Bosman's they have recognised that there should be more money for them, and the wages bill has gone up.
The reported money spent of transfers was £106,000. This does not match up with the generally reported £200,000 for Chris Clark, and £100,000 for Michael Hart. Any help on the understanding the difference would be gratefully received.
After the 2008 financial results were created money has been spent on Mulgrew, Wright and maybe on Aluko.
