Debt

The net debt for the club comes from adding up all the money they have borrowed, be this loans or overdraft, and then comparing it to how much cash the club has.

In 2007 the club managed to renegotiate some of its loans with £9m being promised as a payment if the club gets into the Premier League. This caused the net debt to improve by that £9m.

Usually this site only ever uses figures reported by clubs in their accounts. In 2005 the club stopped reporting debt as a specific item, so the subsequent figures are calculated from the figures that are available, so they are a best guess, and cannot be claimed to be 100% accurate. The company who owns Cardiff City will have more complete results and they will be examined in due course.
