Profits

The graphs below shows the reported profits of Cardiff. No fan really wants their club to make a profit as the aim must be to improve the playing squad, or the ground, but not to make money.

It is pretty clear that the club only makes a profit in exceptional circumstances. So in 2006 the sale of Jerome, Gabbidon, and Collins made the club £6.7m in profits, yet still only produced an overall profit of £1.1m for the season.

The  total losses over the eight years covered come to £32m. It is doubtful that 2009 would have been anywhere as good 2008. These results mean that the club has only been able to survive through the owners/directors ploughing ever more money in.
