As mentioned on the amortisation page Celtic have reduced their expenditure over the last few seasons, although the dealings from the summer of 2007 will be markedly higher.
The huge figure in 2001 came mainly from the buys of Lennon, Sutton, Valgaeren and Thompson. The previous year it had been Berkovic, Tebily, Petrov and Rafael In 2002 it was Balde, Guppy, Sylla, Hartson and Fernandez.
