If the new ground has the predicted capacity of between 50,000 and 55,000 then the expected gate receipts should be comparable to Newcastle's. These can be seen here.
This indicates an increase in income of £10m a year, which is the figure Keith Wyness has suggested.
If the stadium is paid for through a combination of Tesco, naming rights and the sale of Goodison, and the club end up with no debt then the extra revenue should be all available for team improvement.
The only question is really whether the emotional attachment to Goodison is too great. If it is then the club is unlikely to be able to compete with those clubs with larger grounds.
