Everton - Debt
Everton's debt is shown below. Again the great improvement in 2005 was purely down to the sale of Rooney. Each year that the club loses money the debt figure worsens.
The leap in debt in 2008 was from borrowings to "invest in the playing squad". The club are keen to point out that £23m of the debt will not be required to be paid for at least 5 years.
