Board Room

The directors' cost are shown below.

The board, and the chairman in particular have boosted the amount they take out of the club by a huge amount. In 2007 the board collectively were paid under £140,000 for the year. In 2008 the highest paid director was suddenly worthy of £100,000 for the year. By 2009 he was worth ten times that to the club, and took out just under £1m from the club. He wasn't alone this time, as the other directors also took out £1m between them.

The directors of Bolton, Birmingham, West Ham and even Portsmouth didn't view their boards as being worth payign as much as Hull did.

Whether the club was getting value for money from the directors can be judged from other parts of this site.

While in the Championship the comparison with other teams was quite favorable, the directors at Coventry and Palace, for example,  paid themselves nearly twice as much as the Hull board.
