Kilmarnock - Interest Payments

Clubs have to pay out interest on loans taken out for various purposes.

The graph below shows that Kilmarnock have interest payments of £600,000 per year. Comparing this with the pre-2003 figures it is clear that roughly half the payments come from the construction of the hotel. This is clearly a huge drain on the club, and will seem to be for the foreseeable future. The income from the hotel has been £2.7m for the last two years. Whether the interest payments means the hotel adds to, or detracts from the Kilmarnock football business is not clear.

The comparative figures for Killie show them paying over £600,000 per year in interest payments, Dundee United paying close to £500,000. St Mirren and Falkirk have a huge advantage over these clubs in not having any interest to pay. Hearts have interest payments of close to £35,000 per week.
