The amounts paid out have been over £1m for the last two seasons. This may sound like lots, but it is not out of line with other Premiership clubs. The better question may well be whether all these football directors are really worth it. Storrie at Portsmouth paid himself £1.3m in 2008, presumably as he was so concerned about the club going bust in the subsequent couple of years.
