Motherwell - Income
This graph shows the money Motherwell has taken in since 2000.
The total income since 2000 is just under £36m.
The amount of money coming into the club is key to its ability to compete. The turnover is very dependent on the form of the team, the number of cup games played, and the finishing league position. The income is fairly static at around £4m.
The second graph shows the split of the income in 2009. The three areas of income are fairly equal in importance. The club accounts state that the demise of Setanta reduced the amount of income from TV rights by 40%. This doesn't seem to stack up when the figures are looked at. It may well be that Setanta promised more money but the 2009 figure was only 7% lower than the 2008 figure.
The lower graph shows how the split has changed over the last 9 years.
The last three graphs show the amounts of money from each area over the last 9 years. An item of note is the steadily reducing income from gate receipts before 2008. The huge leap in TV money comes from finishing 3rd compared to 10th.
