Motherwell - Interest Payments

 

Motherwell has to pay out interest on loans taken out for various purposes.

The graph below again shows the difference made by going in to administration made. In 2002 the club were paying over £4000 per week in interest payments. In 2007 the figure for the year was only £27,374 in total and in 2008 magically the club received more interest than it paid out.

The only outstanding loan the club has is from John Boyle. At the start of the 2009 season the club owed Boyle £950k, this was reduced to £822k during the year. The interest on this loan is at the arte of 4.75%.

The comparative figures for the other non-Old Firm teams are generally much higher than Motherwell's.
