Palace has to pay out interest on loans taken out for various purposes.

The graph shows that the club has had large interest payments every year, and that they are getting larger. They are getting larger because the business is losing money every year and is having to borrow more to survive. A vicious circle.

The figures are not good but they are not that different from many other sides. What they show is that over the last 8 years roughly 4% of the money that comes in goes straight out again in interest. In 2008 the figure rose to nearly 8%. Part of the reason for the increase is that the banks will charge a higher rate of interest the more risky the business is. As Palace continues to struggle as a business the worse this will become.
