It seems that all directors of football clubs now see themselves as very important people, worthy of grand salaries to match their special skills.
In 2007 the highest paid director took £591,000 out of the club, in 2008 it was only £494,000. Up to 2005 the most a director was ever paid was £189,000, and in 2005 it was a mere £75,000.
Whether the directors deserve this level of pay is questionable. The close to £3m taken out in the last three reported seasons seems very high for a club that only took in £75m in revenue in the same period.
